I'm sitting in a Panera here in Walnut Creek after a pretty good day, ate me some broccoli cheese soup and listening to "Nothing Like Us" by Justin Bieber. Have you heard it? It's good :D Poor him and Selena.
I haven't blogged about the cruise yet because I still need to get some pictures that are on other people's cameras and I've been lazy. Surprise, surprise.
So lately I've been getting emotional at the most random things. For example, this commercial from the Superbowl made me choke up and still does every time I see it: THIS. It's a Budweiser commercial...don't judge. So what's the deal? I have no idea but last night was a VERY rough night for me in terms of our wonderful pop culture that keeps our world turning, and these sensitive emotions did not give me an advantage.
**IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED OR KNOW THE ENDING TO THE 1998-2003 TEEN SOAP "DAWSON'S CREEK" OR SEEN THE LATEST EPISODE OF THE BACHELOR, DO NOT READ**
***SPOILER ALERT***
**I REPEAT, IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN "DAWSON'S CREEK" OR THE CURRENT SEASON OF THE BACHELOR, DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE THE SURPRISE RUINED**
On Netflix I've been watching "Dawson's Creek", spending each episode with high emotions in anticipation that Joey and Dawson will end up together. After many hours and an emotionally invested experience by me, the season finale came. Joey picked Pacey. My life came crashing down around me. All that time (6 seasons to be exact) and expectations that she would end up with her soul mate, Dawson...she picked his best friend!!! I was balling from that shocker, and compounded on top of another character dying. Waste of my life!!
I wiped my tears, blew my nose and commenced to watch the latest episode of The Bachelor with a renewed sense of optimism. Since Joey didn't pick Dawson, I knew Sean would pull through for me by giving my favorite girl a rose to be in the top two: AshLee. She is the most beautiful, mature girl in the entire season and I've been sure this entire time that she was going to go all the way.
Commence the rose ceremony. It's between Lindsay, Catherine and AshLee. He calls Lindsay first. "Okay, no big deal...AshLee got called first last week so she can't be first again". After a 10 minute pause, he looks up and calls out the name "Catherine". CATHERINE?!!!!!
I'm shocked. Again. AshLee's face said it all:
Commence the tears and blowing of the nose. Not a good night for me, people. I would rather have gotten my finger stuck in a chinese finger trap before experiencing this double dose of pop culture disappointment.:)
